Security & control

A lot off your plate.
Still in your hands.

An assistant should earn your trust. Here’s how Dana handles your information, your connections, and the moments that need your say.

Prepared by Dana. Approved by you.

01 / The human in the loop is you

Dana prepares.
You approve.

Dana can research, organize, and prepare work for you. Before taking critical actions—like sending an email, creating or changing a calendar event, or writing to a connected app—Dana asks for your approval.

  1. 1
    Review the details.

The recipient. The time. The change. The amount.

  2. 2
Give the go-ahead. Or make a change.

You can approve, ask for an edit, or decline.

  3. 3
    Dana acts on that approval.

A different recipient, time, or total needs a new review.

An approval has a scope. Recurring and delegated workflows follow the boundaries you authorize. More about ongoing tasks ↗

02 / Personal means personal

Your data is not
training material.

We don’t use your conversations, files, or connected-account data to train AI models.

01

Used to help you.

Dana processes the information needed to answer your requests and provide the service. That can include messages, attachments, and data from apps you connect.

02

Not sold.

We don’t sell your personal information. Relevant information may be processed by the service providers that help Dana work, including AI and connected-app providers.

03

Handled with care.

We use secure transport, access controls, and safeguards for connection credentials. Access by our team is restricted to the circumstances in our Privacy Policy.

Illustrative connections

03 / Connected on your terms

Your apps.
Your permission.

Choose the accounts you want Dana to help with. Review the permissions in the provider’s connection flow so you know what access you’re granting.

A connection isn’t a blank cheque.

Permission to access an app is separate from approval to carry out a critical action in it.

You can withdraw access.

Use the controls for that connection in Dana, revoke access in the provider’s settings, or contact us for help.

Payments & credentials

Important details.
Specific protections.

Paying for something and signing in to an account are different jobs. Here’s where our providers fit.

Your purchase. Your approval.

For purchases using Link, review the merchant and amount in Link before approving payment. Connecting Link alone does not approve a purchase.

About Link

Credentials have their own home.

1Password provides credential storage for supported connected sign-in workflows. Access depends on the connection and permissions you authorize.

A credential connection does not approve purchases or other critical actions.

Disconnecting stops access through a connection. It does not automatically delete existing conversations or other retained records. See how retention works.

Good questions

Straight
answers.

Trust should come with an explanation.

Do you use my data to train AI?

No. We don’t use your conversations, files, or connected-account data to train AI models. Dana uses information to provide the service, including processing requests with the service providers needed to answer them.

Does connecting an app approve every action?

No. Connecting an app grants the permissions shown during setup. Critical actions, such as sending an email, creating or changing an event, making a purchase, or writing to a connected app, require your approval.

What about recurring or delegated tasks?

The scope matters: who, what, when, and any spending limits. Some dedicated workflows can carry out steps within a scope you have already authorized. A recurring request is not blanket permission for unrelated actions. Ask Dana to stop the task, and revoke the connection in the provider’s settings if you need to withdraw account access.

Can someone at Dana read my information?

Employee and contractor access is restricted. Access may be necessary for support you request, security or abuse investigations, legal obligations, or appropriate internal operations. Our Privacy Policy explains these circumstances.

Does disconnecting delete my history?

Disconnecting and deletion are different. Disconnecting withdraws access through that connection; existing conversations, outputs, and other retained records are not automatically deleted. Contact support@heydana.ai to request deletion.

Are my conversations end-to-end encrypted all the way through Dana?

Dana needs to process the requests you send. A messaging service’s encryption does not mean the entire Dana workflow is end-to-end encrypted. Your request may involve Dana, AI service providers, and the apps needed to complete it.
